Thousands Lost Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Residents observed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced energy failures after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham region - over 175 help reports
At the height on Sunday, more than 28k power users in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across multiple regions of both regions.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
